Introduction: Human KIAA0513 is vastly expressed in the brain cortex, cerebellum, hippocampus, amygdala, pons and putamen. While the expression of KIAA0513 is high in neurons, KIAA0513 is also found in glial cells. In schizophrenic patients, higher levels are detected in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex as compared to control patients.
